How do I get lawncare donated to a youth baseball field?
Question:Our league has very little funds and horrible looking fields. I was thinking maybe a lawncare co might donate time and sod or whatever necessary to help us .. we could advertise the co on banners on the fields etc showing who donated the lawn etc? I am not sure who to ask or where to even begin?? Anyone have a clue?

While being a youth baseball/softball coach along with serving as the Field Coordinator for the league, I often asked the local sod growers and the local rockery to donate sod/soil/compost to our league in exchange for recognition in our league directory and signs posted in the outfield fence.
We also held several "Field Days" that were mandatory for all parents to attend. Either the father or mother were required to come and help clean/repair the fields for 3 or 4 hours. IF they were unable or unwilling to attend, they were required to pay $50 which was then submitted directly into our field fund to help pay the older kids to mow the infields twice a week and also to pay for equipment/materials (such as lawnmowers, chalk, fertilizer, etc).
I would be more than happy to share other successful fundraising opportunities for baseball/softball leagues...so please feel free to write me directly.
The league couldn't function without supportive parents like you! Good luck!

I used to donate weed control & fertilization to a softball complex in exchange for league fee's. I'm sure there's someone who would do it for the exposure.
You could probably just call from the phone book to companies in the area.
