If you cut a worm in half or a bit off the end. will it grow back?

Question:

Answers:
NO!!!!!!
The 'cutting-the-worm-in-half-myth...
If an earthworm is cut in half will both parts grow back? NO. The head holds all the main organs...if it is cut off - the worm dies. If the worm is severed posterior to the clitellum, the tail might grow back. The severed tail just dies. Some worms have been found to have two tails after receiving an injury to the posterior end. A new tail grew from the injured area...

of course not
well that be crazy
I don't think so, but it will still live!
Yes. Both sides will wriggle for a bit, but the part with the head will regenerate
depends on the type of worm, some do, some don't
No, you get a dead worm in 2 pieces.
Course not man!
As long as there is a good amount of the worm, yes. However, you cannot cut the worm down the middle. (at least not an earthworm or a similar type of worm.)
yes

the end with the head will grow a new tail end
no of course not
yes
most of the time no but sometimes if it is just a small bit it will but why would you like to do that?
That depends on the kind of the worm. Some worm called pranalya or something (it lives in clean water) grows back, since it has so many predators and that's the way it preserves it spices.
Oh, and yes, tape worm does. You don't find that in your garden normally though.
Worms are famous for turning into two worms if you cut them in half (both ends regrow) which is ridiculous but the idea must have come from somewhere so it's perfectly possible they regrow the tail end though it seems likely this only happens if you cut a small bit off rather then half the worm. (I'm not an expert, mind.)
Yes, it will, but it depends on where it is cut. Here is a Zoololgy report discussing how it happens. http://www.madsci.org/posts/archives/dec...
I am not sure,And I am not about to cut a worm in half to find out.I have heard that it will grow back or at least live.I know that lizzards have a defince, that if something grabs its tail,Its tail will come of and a knew one will grow in its place. It most likly hurts the lizzard, but at least it can still live.
Yes, to a certain extent. I have seen it many time with fishing bait. A tail section of a earth worm come off fairly easily and wiggles a lot. A clear advantage if caused by a predator who's attention will be on the wriggling tail. If you cut flat worm in two you will get two flat worms!
no
Yes, most worms regenerate.
