Well, you might get a few hairy looks from passers by. But, seriously, here in Germany, the people are encouraged to comb their dogs in the parks in spring to allow the birds to use the balls of hair for their nesting. And hair really is a good source of oxygen, iron, nitrogen, hydrogen, sulphur, carbon and phosphorous. So what the birds don´t get, the plants do.
