Are my impatiens in too much sun?

Question:I have 2 diff. kinds- some hot pink and some white- the white seem to be ok w/ my southern exposure/partial shade, but the pink have gotten some pale spots on the petals. The plants themselves and the whites are thriving- just the pink petals. I am in Southern California. Do they less/ more sun?

Answers:
Impatiens are best grown in light shade: they will be healthier, last longer and have more intensely coloured flowers. if you grow them in hot sun they will still survive but will be less attractive. they should ideally be planted in the shade of a tree or wall.

Impatients thrive in the shade.
they need some sunlight but not direct sun. Make sure u don't water them when the sun is on them esp direct sunlight b/c that will cause brown spots as well. Ck. under the leaves to make sure there isn't any bugs.. if so, try washing leaves w/ soapy water lst.. It could b jst that species.
