What chemical do you use to kill wild grapevines?

The best product available for the control of trees, vines and shrubs is "Bayer Brush Killer" or "Brush-B-Gone" by Ortho. They contain the active ingredient "Triclopyr" and can be purchased at most hardware/garden shops. In my professional opinion, it outperforms Roundup in many ways.
It works in the same manner as Roundup by killing the roots first and then slowly exhibiting foliar damage 7 to 10 days after treatment.
There are a couple of ways you can apply it on your wild grapevines to eradicate them;
1) Spray the entire vine making sure you get thorough coverage. Follow directions for mixing and then add a tablespoon of dishsoap after mixing. The dishsoap will help make the solution adhere to the leaves better and allow more of the solution to be taken into the plant.
OR
2) Cut the grapevine to expose the "greenwood" and immediately (within 10 minutes after cutting) apply using an old paintbrush on a mixture of 1 part of Triclopyr with 3 parts of water. You can also add some dishsoap again in this process.
Any leftover product can be used to spray on lawns to control your broadleaved weeds. It won't harm grassy types of vegetation but you should be careful when using it around ornamental plants. Try to use this product in the morning before temperatures become warm (over 80 degrees).

Hope this helps you get rid of those wild grapevines. GOOD LUCK!
