When should my mom's friend be expecting her aloe shoots?

Question:Hi, i recently bought this aloe barbados for my mom's friend on sunday and transplanted it on monday and gave it to her tuesday, when should she be expecting aloe shoots (pups) growing at the base of the mother plant.

Hi there,

Aloe tend to send out more shoots and pups when they are slightly rootbound. Since they can tolerate this pretty well, you shouldn't re-pot unless the plant starts getting top-heavy. She'll want to take the pups out and pot them up by themselves when they get to about 3 or 4 inches in height - if you don't do this, they'll put a strain on the mother plant and it will start getting a bright green and will send out shoots horizontally instead of vertically. When she's repotted the pups they should be watered well and not watered again for about 3 weeks, which will force new roots to seek water. The transplanted pup may turn grey or brown for a while, which is normal. I hope she enjoys her plant! I'm planning on trying to get a pup from my mom's plant when I'm down in Arizona this year! Goodluck!
