Will thes bulbs grow?

Question:My mom got some tulip bulbs from the neighbor and wanted me to plant them, so i did. But the bulbs arnt together, they are all broke apart and the white looking seeds inside of them are all out of the bulb and everywhere. But i planted them anyway. I dont know much/ hardley anything about gardening, so my question is... will they still grow? or are they bad now?

Answers:
It sounds like your bulbs are OK, per se.

However, it depends on where you live as to whether these bulbs will come back next year. Tulips need a VERY COLD (think snow) winter. Without the cold, they won't return. In California, I treat tulips as annuals!

The best time to plant tulips bulbs is in the fall!!

Good Luck!!

The bulbs dont sound good , bulbs should be solid and in one piece like an uncut onion. tulips are planted in the fall for best growth. You have them planted now just hope for the best.
I don't know if they will grow or not. Tulips are generally planted in the fall, when the bulbs are dormant. Then the re-energize in the spring and produce the tulips. You may not have any tulips this next spring, but wait for the next year and you may be surprised. That was nice of you to do for your mother..Good luck!
