ok, i know the answer assuming this is a push mower. You'll have to forgive i dont know the technical terms. Basically what you do is hold the clutch/handle thing then reach down and press the gas-primer bulb until its filled (3 times should be good) then while still holding the clutch down pull the chord, it should crank up and run.
you probably clogged your fuel filter, possibly got a chunk of jellied fuel inside the motor itself. try cleaning/replacing the fuel filter. if it doesn't work, you may need to try a gas additive to "clean' the gunk out. never use old gas! buy a fuel stabilizer if it's gonna sit for a while, but your mower needs to be emptied at the end of every season and gas shouldn't be stored for more than a month in extreme temps.

uhhh.. return it to store!! lol
Sounds to me like you have water in the fuel system. Or trash in the carb. Sometimes a fuel treatment will solve this problem providing you use "clean" fuel from here on out. Lowes and Home Depot have this in the lawn and garden section. I think it's called fuel stabilizer which you add to the tank for winter storage. It is inexpensive and safe for the mower. Give it a try... Good luck
