Infertile Spider Plant?

Question:I have had a spider plant from around mid feb 2007 till now. It was tiny and has since grown significantly.

Why haven't babies started to grow? I water once a week and keep it by a big window with indirect light.

The ends are a tiny bit brown and dry. What can i do and when do the babies start to grow?

Help!

Thanks,
Corie

Answers:
Spider plants like to be a bit "root bound" in the pot.. when the roots fill up the pot it will send out baby's... don't worry, it is probably not a big enough plant yet... Just be patient...it will be!

I've had a spider plant since 2002 and it has never once given me a baby. I actually consider it a blessing...less to clean up! It's healthy otherwise, and I treat it the same way I treat all my other houseplants (which bloom regularly and seem to be happy enough!). Maybe there are just some that have decided not to become parents?
I have had some that do not produce young. Do not know why they where nice plants, I gave them away as gifts.
