Can you compost recycled kitchen roll?

Question:

Answers:
In theory - no (although you can recycle it).

I used to put a fair bit in my compost, soaked in water and shredded it does decompose but quite slowly I have to say!

You're best off putting it with your other recycling.

I don't think you can compost kitchen roll like the whole plastic bag thing that can't break down.
Yes, and other paper and cardboard will recycle. Usually there are collections for this type of material, and also you don't know if it contains remnants of bleach etc, from production, so be wary of adding to a live compost culture. Go ahead, if you wish.

Mix 'green' and 'brown' plant matter, for the best composting, eg, grass cuttings and leaves.
Yes you can. I wouldn't recommend huge wads at a time, but I assume you are just talking about a few sheets at a time from normal use... no problem. Remember to mix with 'green' waste.
kitchen towel does compost in our compost bin, in fact most things that are organic based get put into our bin. we don't put the cardboard packs that are shiny as they have a thin plastic coat on them
Yes if plain white and doesn't have cooked food on it.

Any paper, brown paper bags, toilet roll centres, shreded credit card receipts, black and white print newspaper (coloured ink is not a good idea).

The more we can compost ourselves the better.

Do layer the compost - one layer crumpled or shreded paper, one layer of garden debris, grass leaves etc, one layer of raw kitchen waste.
