How do I get rid of ticks on my lawn?

Question:Ticks are really bad this year in our region and they've made their way into our yard on onto us and our dogs. What's the best method for killing ticks in the yard?

I did read that you could dust the yard and gardens with lime, but that raised soil pH and we already have very alkaline soil, so adding lime would be a bad thing.

Answers:
Beneficial nematodes.

Sevin Dust works very well. Do it in the evening and keep it away from blooming plants-it kills bees too. Shouldn't hurt your dogs. It will also kill some of the good bugs in your lawn like earthworms but they'll recover pretty quick.
Go to this web-site http://www.cdc.gov/nasd/docs/d000801-d00... they have a lot of good info.
I use a product called No Pest that I purchased at Walmart. Use a lawn spreader and cover the lawn. It kills ticks, fleas and ants. Also lists some other pests.
I put out a granuals that are for several kinds of bugs , that you can find at wal-mart and if you put it out right before it rains it gets in the ground good it has worked for me. I tried seven dust but once it rains it seems to wash it away, it just doesn't last long.
This works.

Guineas are great, so are bantam poultry. No poison and even puts on a show now and then.
