I have sunflowers that recent bloomed but ...?

Question:They dont seem to be following the sun. Why is this happening?

Answers:
If your plants receive light all day (not shaded) they won't need to. Sunflowers with multi-flowering stocks will face the outside with the most available light at the time. As new flowers form, they will pick a new open area.

Single headed sunflowers like the Mammoth usually faces the direction they receive the most light from and usually south gives them all-day exposure. Unless they are shaded out either in the morning or the evening, they don't have a need to strain for more light.

They sometimes don't do that, I planted some and they didn't follow the sun. If they are right in the sun light all through the day, they sometimes won't.
