Soil for sod?

Question:We had an above ground pool and now we have about an inch or two of sand and a lot of gravel. Is it Ok to rake out the the gravel and mix it with the sand and topsoil or should the gravel be removed first?

Answers:
Just remember, the roots in the sod need to penetrate the soil in order for the sod to survive...the deeper the root, the better the chance for a green lawn. Also, in order for new sod to survive, it MUST be watered at least 45 minutes a day for several weeks. Good luck!

If it's pea size gravel, leave it and cover it with soil
idk but if it is hot, i suggest laying the sod with your top off
