Question:I finally found Chinese Bamboo plant for sale and cheap enough for me to own it. I really don't want to lose it. Please tell me about how to take care of it..Does it like dry or wet, cold or hot? Type of the dirt?...etc.
Answers:
We have bamboo along our fence. It was planted in the dirt and has grown and grown on its own. We live in a semi_wet climate so prob no need to water for us. If you live in a dry environment you may need to water occasionally. Also, the bamboo will sprout others out of its roots in the yard. Yep, their wild.
bamboo just goes in a vase with rocks and water, refill water weekly
Bamboo can survive almost anywhere but they love to have lots of water, they are originally a plant that grows in the river banks...

Years ago, as part of my original backyard landscape, I planted bamboo. Without much care (neither fertilizer nor water), it grew so wildly and out of control that its shoots sprouted everywhere and encroached on the other plants. I finally decided to kill it.
Sorry if I scared you. But I thought my experience will give you something to think about.
(P.S. Contrary to what others above have said, in my native tropical country, bamboos grow wildly everywhere, water or no water.)
