Strange substance??
Question:during the 6 years i've lived in my house, I could plant anything in it and it would thrive...until now.Suddenly all the flowers/plants are dying and turning brown and piles of 'jelly' are appearing around flower beds and on grass.its totally clear jelly at first then it turns yellow/brown but still translucent and appears in 'piles'. Does anyone have any idea what this could be?

I found this link:

Hope it helps you. It could also be that you have a clay soil which needs inprovement.
Some kind of animal waste? Maybe. Or maybe a fungus. Ive had something like that in my garden but it was not translucent. it was brown...never clear. it was just a fugus. I hope I helped you some.
An internet search suggests they're slug eggs.
I'm betting the globs are slug eggs.
Their eggs are gelatinous globs.
You may also see silverly slime trails all around the area, especially visible on sidewalks or stones.
You can get rid of slugs by burying a jar lid up to the rim in soil and filling it with beer. Slugs will fall in, drink the beer and drown.
It can also work to surround the garden with a line of copper wire... they won't crawl over the copper wire. People used to use pennies but it takes a lot of pennies.
on line there is a website gardenadvice.co who will answer your query. go to advice page. you may have two things wrong, one underground and above ground ie some pest. sorry not expert enough to be much help. a good garden centre information desk will also be a good place to go. check if it is confined to your garden, or are your neighbours affected as well? may be helpful in the investigation.
