Ummm, no potatoes don't grow on trees. Sweet potatoes vine and with some determination, I suppose one could train the vine up a fence or a latice. LOL But no, potatoes of any kind do not grow on trees.
I hope you're betting that potatoes are roots and therefore area always under ground, because that's the facts, Jack. The potato is a root. The potato vine may wander up a tree in some cases, but the potato itself needs to be under the soil to grow.
