I hope someone can help me with my 5 yr old Ming Aralia I dearly love. It is losing whole branches.?

Question:I brought home 3 new ones and the older plant began losing leaves, then whole branches. I then noticed the new plants doing the same although not as bad. I see no insects or other problem.

Answers:
ming aralias arent very easy to grow from my experience. generally, at least here, they will get a scale insect near the stems, but the reason most die is from being too overwatered. they are like a dog. watter them a little bit each time, but more often, rather than a bunch all at once less often.
did you transplant it? if you did, you could have gotten dirt up too high on the stems. you should never put dirt higher on the stem than what it was originally.

Maybe it is dying?
