I have a summer house/shed, any ideas what i can do to it??..?
Question:i have a 10x8 summer house house/shed, the wood is quite and i want to revamp it. i have been think of building a decking area in front of it,so looks like a kind of balcony that you step out on to from the summer house and going for a sort of beach hut theame.very pale blue and white walls (not sure wether outside blue and inside white/cream or inside blue and outside white?) and instead of a wood rail around decking was thinking thickish rope through wooden posts??
What do you think?? has any1 got any other suggestions and does any1 know of any web sites i can look to get any ideas?

Here's a thought. My sister-in-law uses and old but decorated mail box outside for her flower tools. I thought it was a bird house.

I really like your idea. I would also add maybe a small pond and plants around it. Your project also depends on how much you are willing to spend and what area you are in.
If you are in an area that doesn't get much rain, take the windows out and add screen to the frames.
I would have a sandy path that leads to it from your house, but I would suggest using that black stuff you put down to keep the grass from coming through the sand.
I would also, along the path, place some small logs and put the rope through there also to carry the theme through to the summer get away.
Around the pond area, you might even be able to get plants that you see along a real beach, like some of the grasses and maybe some ferns.
You can buy a kit for a small pond and it comes with a filter and you don't have to put fish in it. I think it would sound soothing just to have a small fountain in it. Or even place a water barrel on the porch for the soud of calmong water.
I know there are some places that you even might be able to get some bouys and hang them from the ropes also.
You could even get drift wood and put out front of the balcony area and some sea shells. Over the screen you could also hang fish netting down for a sort of curtain and place small nautical themed items in them. Shells, bouys, fishing items like a lure or two. You can use a hot glue gun to attach the items.
You should look in your area for a Freecycle group. You can get rid of unwanted items that you might have in there and get some of what you need from other members.
