Orange jelly like fungas on my cherry tree??

Question:Shriveled brown leaves and also healthy ones..Cherries forming.

Answers:
The orange jel you're seeing is from a fungal disease called Cytospora Canker (sometimes referred to as "Gummosis"), it attacks most stone fruits (fruits with pits such as cherries, peaches, plum, apricots). Cytospora will also attack trees that are generally weak (due to limited fertilizer or water applications). The fungus becomes active in the spring as the tree becomes active.

Cytospora is highly infectious and damaging, particularly when trees are under stress. Stress can be caused by too heavy a crop, poor nutrition, drought, winter injury, wet feet or improper watering, spray/insect injury and insufficient renewal pruning. Canker development can take place throughout the year. However, the greatest canker growth occurs in the spring as temperatures warm up just before tree activity resumes and infections can cause severe dieback; eventual death of the tree is likely.

Here's a website that offers some excellent advice to prevent further cytospora infections;

Hope this information helps answers your question and reduces further injury on your cherry tree. GOOD LUCK!

its alien spawn coming to take over the world one yard at a time...youre the chosen one be both proud and afraid for your life!
you should take out the branch of the tree on which orange jelly like fungus on your tree it is called coloured jelly fungus it can be in any colour.
With cherries you should cut away any diseased branches so the infection doesn't spread. The fungus may be something like Witches Butter (look it up on google images) which grows on almost any kind of wood, usually wood that is dead or dying. The rest of the tree should still be ok though and your cherry crop shouldn't be affected too much.
