How can I get rid of Johnson grass and keep it from coming back?
Question:I have Johnson grass growing in my driveway and sidewalk. I can't seem to get rid of it. I am open to ideas.
Answers:
Johnson gras has extremely deep roots. You must dig it up. Pulling it won't get it all. If it is Johnson grass that is the only thing I have found that is actually works. On your hard surfaces use roundup. It should kill anything but you have to really saturate it becasue it has to go down to the roots.
Good luck!
You'll probably have to use glyphosate (Round-up) on Johnson grass--that's a very tenacious weed with deep, deep roots.
Benomyl and chlorothalonil kill a wide variety of molds, though if your lawn is being attacked by Pythium mold, you'll have to use chloroneb or ethazol. Aerating the soil will help get rid of the standing water.
Just look for these ingrediants in weed killers. Good luck!
