How best to plant newly purchased dwarf golden Hinoki Cypress tree.?

Question:

Answers:
Well to start with make sure that you're going to be planting it in an area that is very sunny, (or if you live in an area that can get extremely hot, try and plant it where it will get some shade from the afternoon sun.) And it is just not really advised to plant them at all if you live in an area that can get below the 10-15F range.

When you do plant it try and plant it with a fast-draining soil as it does like it's water but it can easily succumb to root rot. To try and avoid this water it during the early morning or later afternoon, try not to have the plant sitting in water overnight as this is when the tree is less active and so it drinks less and root rot is more likely.

But apart from that you should be fine! Hope it helped.

Sunny location. Well drained soil.

Pay attention to watering until it's established (through next spring). Place a hose over the rootball, and turn it on to a slow trickle, and let it go for 20 minutes. This will ensure that the water penetrates the rootball, and doesn't merely runoff into the surrounding soil.

If it's hot and dry, do this every 5 days. If it's merely warm and dry, every 7 to 10 days. Once the weather cools down - once every two weeks. If you get a good soaking rain (more than a brief shower), that counts as watering. If you live where there is winter, stop watering after it freezes.
