How can I stop mushrooms from growing in my yard?

Question:I'm not sure what type they are, just plan regular mushrooms I'm thinking. They keep showing up in my front/back yard...how do I get rid of them?

Answers:
I believe the television gardening guy said all you can try and do is de-thatch your grass. You can't really kill the mushrooms but getting rid of the built of thatch might help get rid of the breeding ground that they find favorable.

Mushrooms grow in rotting wood. You'll have to get rid of the woody material.
make swimming pool there in place of yard
They show up this time of year. There's really not anything you can do to stop it. They tend to like cool, damp, shady lawns, but not always, I've seen them in sunny hot lawns too.

They go through phases, and don't tend to pop up all summer long, just for a few weeks.

Good luck.
you have either gotten allot of rain or you live on a high water table, nothing to worry about, they will go away when it begins to dry up soon.
mushrooms are the spore bearing stalks of the fungus growing in the soil. This fungus also spreads by spore scattered by the these heads. the only way to stop mush rooms is to remove all the fungal material in the soil.
