Why aren't the impatiens blooming?

Question:I have impatiens planted in hanging baskets, hanging in my screened porch. While the leaves are still there and looking healthy, all the blooms are gone and no more are budding.

Impatiens I bought on the same day in the same store are blooming out front, in the shade in window boxes.

Answers:
That is odd.

I know they are in your porch, but are they getting hit by a lot of sunlight? If so, move them to a shadier area.

If they are in shade, then be patient. Make sure they are watered but not too much.

Good luck.

do you have the impatients in shade on your screened porch ? if so I would say give them a good shot of fertilizer and then see what happens . if they are not in shade move them to shade and then they should start blooming . good luck if that does not work please email me and I will be glad to help if I can .
Most varieties of impatiens like shade. Give them a good shot of fertilizer. You might need to move them back on the porch so they don't get so much sun. There is one new variety that loves sun! But it is taller than most impatiens~probably not the best for baskets~I just have them in pots and my garden. Happy, Healthy gardening!
