Anyone use "reed" fence covers/privacy screens?

Question:I am thinking of using the roll out "reed" privacy screens sold at home improvement centers to cover an ugly cyclone fence...also for added privacy in my backyard. Does anyone know how long they hold up? I live in northern California...so no snow or too harsh conditions.

Answers:
I used them in Calgary Alberta so lots of nasty weather. They held up well, we had them 2 years and then moved and left them behind so I don't know after that. They did not come with any way to attach them to the fence so we used twist ties and a lot of them as its heavy when wet. We covered a chain link fence. Good luck
