Go buy a fire pit from lowes or home depot.
not going to happen, but you could burn the pile of wood clean up majority of the ashes and reseed. just use a hard rake and loosen the siol a bit raking out any clumps as you go, scatter your seed evenly, water on a regular basis and watch how fast that area grows back! the ashes will help fertilize the area, it works great i do this in my garden every fall.
I wanted to grow Morel mushrooms this year but they grow best on ground that has been burned. I could have made the bonfire on the grass and covered the area with soil and reseeded. Instead I removed the sod and made my bonfire on the bare ground. I inoculated the area with morel spawn and replaced the sod. After a thorough watering and a couple of weeks to recover you can't tell it was ever done.
If it is an actual bonfire, and not just a little campfire, there is no way you can do it without burning the grass. The size of the fire, and the heat produced will burn the grass down to the roots.
If you are intent on doing this, have the bonfire, and let it burn completely. Rent a tiller, and till the ashes into the soil, and into any surrounding area that was scorched. Ashes from a woodfire, known as potash, is a good fertilizer. After it is tilled into the soil, spread grass seed, and water. In a week or so, you'll have new grass coming up, and in a few months it should be just as lush as it was before.
