Does poison sumac grow in Pennsylvania?
Question:I heard that the sumac trees that grow in PA are not really poison sumac, the poisonous ones only grow down south...thats why people in PA can make sumac lemonade with the berries? If you know anything please reply! Thanks!
Answers:
Poison sumac does grow in PA, as does poison ivy. It is poison oak that doesn't grow there.
And there are five other sumac species that also grow in PA that are not poisonous. I don't think I would be drinking any sumac lemonade unless you were really sure which species provided the berries...
Good luck!

YES, it sure does and it is as rough on you there as anywhere else. Be careful.
