Lavender bush out of control.?

Question:Please help.
How do I keep my lavender bush trimmed, it grows like crazy and has taken over most the flower bed. I do cut it back but how often can I do this??

Hi.First off I am really surprised that you are having this problem. I wish I had the same. I am lucky to get my Lavender to survive more than a year. Here are a few good sites that might help you.

I could not help but wonder if possibly you might be having a problem with a Lilac bush instead of Lavender. Most of the Lavender info I have received has never really talked about Lavender getting out of control. Lilac however is notorious for taking over. I always have to struggle with my Lilac bushes to keep them from taking over the place. They sprout on root runners and are very prolific. Let me know if this is the case and I will try to help you more. I am just curious. Check out the sites to make sure that you have a Lavender problem and not Lilac. Hope this helped alittle.

Hi! You know, I am really not sure, but a great place to ask is on this forum website:

There are forums talking about all sorts of garden plants. The people on there have helped many times.
I don't know. I am jealous of you, mine never really grew at all, and then my lab puppy destroyed it....wish mine would have been like yours!!
I would read this article before you touch your plant. I don't know how old your plant is but if it has never been pruned you could kill it. http://www.lavenderenchantment.com/growi...
