Hosta plants leaves clipped?

Question:i am trying to find ot if someone clipped my hosta leaves off at the top or whether there are pesty animals such as raccoons that eat the leaves in such a way that they appear to be cut.

Answers:
slugs love to eat hosta's.use slug bait aruond them

I doubt someone took the time to clip the tops of your plant leaves unless your neighbors are jealous lunatics. If you dont want to use pesticides or bug repelents etc. just leave them alots or net them. Hostas are very hardy plants andd they can handle it.
Deer love hostas. You can try planting deer-resistant plants in with them.

I have 20 or more hostas around my yard, and I get 'critters' going into them. I wouldn't worry about the health of the plant...it's extremely hardy, and will regrow next year.
