How often should I water my indoor basil and chives plants?

Question:I just planted the seeds 2 days ago and I just want to ensure that they are healthy!

Answers:
Inside plants are typically once a week. You just have to check the soil. Don't over-water the seeds as that will cause them not to grow. If you're unsure if the soil is dry, pick up the pot, if it feels really light, then water. Only water enough to fill the reservoir (the space between the top of the soil to the top of the pot) and allow for good drainage.

you should only water them when the soil is completely dry for about 2 inches down
just make sure that the top of the soil is moist, if dry then thats the time that you water it.
to germinate the seeds. keep them moist until they sprout. after they get up an inch or so, cut back the moisture and water when the soil gets dry an inch down. Basil will flag, or droop if it gets dry. Chives are much more tolerant of dryness and will droop only when extremely dry.
