What kind of roses grow best in the south?

Question:

Answers:
Any rose would do just fine with the exception of the Hybrid Tea. With the humidity that the south is famous for you would be battling black spot constantly with a hybrid tea. Some of the hardiest and most disease resistant roses are the old rose and the hybrid musks, however, the English and heirloom roses are also strong and fairly disease resistant. Here is one of my favorite breeders. May give you some idea about what to get.
Check out the categories: Old Garden rose bushes, Hybrid musk rose bushes, and Heirloom roses if you want the most disease resistant roses. The others are good, but remember to stay away from the hybrid teas. Happy Rose Hunting

All these roses are own root roses which is a good thing.

I've had the best luck with nursery roses grafted from local stock.

sun loving roses, please check the tag before you buy them
