"GREY LEAF SPOT" on my tomatoes??

Question:My tomatoes were growing wonderfully and have just started blooming. Now they have just gotten brown/white spots on the leaves. The bottom leaves are also a bit yellow. The leaves are hardly wilting and the plants still seem O.K. The tomato plants are on my balcony and we just had three days of pouring rain. Can I still save them? Do I have to buy fungicide?

Answers:
Your tomatoes can be saved.

Gray Leaf Spot can be treated with a fungicide that contains the active ingredient called "Chlorothalonil" and is often found in most garden/hardware stores as DACONIL.

For an organic approach, Copper (Kocide 101) may be used instead.

Simply mix this product with water and spray your entire tomato plant every 7 to 14 days until the fungus disappears.

Also...I'd advise you to remove any old leaves to prevent further infestation since they harbor the fungal spores.

GOOD LUCK!
