Will bleach kill weeds and poison ivy?

Question:

Answers:
Bleach will stay active in the soil. Glyphosate roundup becomes inactive in the soil. So it would be safer to use roundup!

Yes, I use bleach instead of weed killer with fine results.
Less expensive too.
Maybe, only temporarily. They may come back stronger than ever.
I've found a saturated salt solution also works well, it actually changes the soil pH and makes it difficult for anything to grow
Yeah, it will but the results can be be kind of gross, and aren't always permanent. Try using boiling water, it works like a charm for me (and even cheaper than bleach!). Just boil a kettle or pot full, pour it on the weeds, and wait a day or so, they will wither, brown, and die (you are literally "cooking" them). Then just pull out the dead weed.
WARNING: don't use this for weeds in the grass (don't use bleach on those either), both bleach and boiling water will kill grass as well, but for weeks in the sidewalk crack or between pavers, etc. it's perfect.
