Answers:
dish soap, put in spray bottle with water and spray them, if you dont trust me then ask around.

I agree w/ "Crazy" ... just a few drops of soap added to the water..spray the plant...this should do the trick...
A mixture of dish soap, ammonia (for fertilizer), and tobacco (like a ground up cigar) with water, sprayed on them will do the trick.

You don't have to use the ammonia, but the tobacco is needed. The nicotine is what does the trick.
I have used plain ole dish liquid and sprayed my roses with it. And I have put some in a pan with lots of suds and dosed them with the suds( the flowers and leaves).
now: dishsoap water, it wont kill the plants, but will kill the bugs.
early spring next year. bury peeled red potatoes in the ground and the maggots will cling to them, dig them up in late spring-early summer (wear gloves!) and toss them
I'm not sure exactly which bugs you're talking about, but as general advice I would suggest two things. If you get a hose-end spayer [check the miracle grow section] and put lemon juice in then turn on the water and hose down your yard that will help. If you don't mind some chemicals then you can also add a bit of dish soap [like Dawn] to make it work even better. Also, try planting basil. You don't have to eat it, just let it grow. There are quite a few bugs that can't stand basil. But the basil and lemon are both despised by mosquitos, so that's why I use them. This year especially has been awful for those little bloodsuckers. Hope that helps.
a mixture of dish washing liquid & garlic..you have to maintain though 1TBS of dt. and juice of garlic..
