Organic rabbit and critter repellant for my raised garden ?
Question:I have a raised garden in Michigan and rabbits and our local woodchuck likes to get in it. What is the best organic repellent I can use without harming the garden or our 18 year old cat ?
Answers:
I have raised garden beds and have had success with moth balls around the perimeter of the beds. Just don't put them in the beds or around the plants. If you have a farm supply store nearby, ask them for fox (or other wild predator) urine. Put it around the base of your beds. For some animals, human hair fends off some wild creatures.
Get a puppy. Make sure the dog and older cat interact a little bit as the dog grows up so the dog v. cat animosity doesn't develop or at least the dog knows who is in charge. The dog should make a good organic rabbit and woodchuck repeler.
I asked a similar question awhile ago and several readers replied with what I thought was a slightly off the wall response, but it WORKS! Try peeing around your raised beds. I had rabbits and woodchucks helping themselves to a midnight snack on several plants in my garden almost every night. A little urine sprinkled around the perimeter last week and nothing since then. Good luck!
take human hair( available at beauty salons) it does work.
