Why do watermelons have 2 different kinds of seeds?

Question:

Answers:
The black seeds are mature, the white seeds haven't matured yet.

If you are talking about why are some black and some white, I think it's because some of the seeds haven't matured yet. Not really positive, but I think I read that somewhere.
It's because there are two types of watermellon. The regular with seeds and the seedless watermellon, which actually have the little white seeds that you can eat.
The black ones were pollinated during the flowering and are "viable" (will germinate and grow another melon). The white ones weren't pollinated, won't grow and don't spit worth a darn. RScott
