Any ideas to block my neighbours from seeing into my garden without putting up a large fence?

Question:My next door neighbours are always out partyin and drinking in their back garden. I cant sit in mine without them all staring at me. We have a 1m high mesh fence separating our gardens and i want to put something up to block them out!

I dont want to put up a big fence because it would cause alot of agro, and i cant put up screening because she has loads of climbing plants weaving in and out of the mesh fence.

I have bought climber plants to put on my side of the fence, but i want something better and quicker - preferably up to 6ft high.

I was contemplating nailing some trellis to the fence so my plants can climb up high, but if anyone can think of something better then i'd really appreciate it.

Thanks

Seems to me fencing, trellis could be your only choice. Bamboo screens look nice and would be a quick solution.
Reed screens look nice too and you can build them yourself.
That was a great answer about the gazebo for £20 because I've seen them but not sure if they have any side's ?

One of those £20 gazebos from Wilkos would give you a bit of privacy.
i always favour some large trees but failing that get some black paint and paint their windows for them
Find fast growing shrubs and line them up towards the back of your garden. It may take a couple of years but it should shade you from your neighbors.

Or you could put up a trellis and plant vines to grow and block the view. For that matter a 6 ft privacy fence and ivy would be a lot quicker. good luck.
a good poke in the eye lol i hate people partying all the time what boot looking in agros 4 a nice green house or a plants holders best of luck x
Well if the mesh fence is the boundary line between you and next door. Then you can place anything you wish, right next to the fence, on the condition you do not move the boundary fence by bending it.

I would seriously consider fencing though as it would completely block their view from yours.
If you live in the city, contact them for the ordinance on this issue. But, if you can contact police, if they get loud they can quiet them down. Also try another side of your yard for your sanctuary.
Trellis is your best bet but a fence would be as cheap and better.Just put loads of fast growing climbers your side of your trellis.Honeysuckle,clematis,R... Vine(but it really takes over) Annoying is'nt it?
Poke their eyes out..
plant some fast growing plants but trim them every year or you will be swamped go into home base and ask for some advice, poss conifers and they are quite cheap
Bambus,

They are great for screening, they have a lovely rustling sound, and they are easily grown (can be a little invasive, so you'll have to cut them out of your lawn sometimes).

However, whose fence is it. Remember that one side of the garden, the fence belongs to you. If it is your fence, so long as you provide her with notice so that you neighbour can rescue her plants, you can change the fence.
fast growing leylandi conifers.they can grow up to 2 foot in a year and you can clip them to the height you want.garden centres have them in all types and sizes and of course prices
Some closely planted conifer trees should do it.

If you only need 6ft of cover I wouldn't go as far as good old leylandis
i think you should creep in there house @ night time and poke there eyes out , this should solve all your problems .
put a wind break up with long poles then take it down when your not sitting in the garden I would not put a fence up as when your not in its your neighbour's who keep an eye on your house subconsciously
thus not giving the burglars blind spots to hide in
Fences and neighbours can be tricky. If you don't want to replace the fence then try attaching screening to the mesh fence. Check out the link below for ideas (I can't comment on the company I just did a search for examples).

Just watch the high as there is a limit to how high you can go with a fence. I think its 6ft max, but check with your local planners. Trees and hedges have no limit, but your neighbour can still complain to the Council if they're not happy (but it will probably cost them).
Buy a tent
Buy a Russian Vine it grows a mile a minute! or tell them your'e a 60year old naturist they'll never look over your fence again....
Do what i did and put up your own fence along side hers then she cant complain, just leave a gap of a few inches then everyones happy.
