Dog run ground cover?

Question:I have an area where our golden retriever does his businesss and naturally the grass that was there is now toast. We are putting in cement paving stones and I remember once someone told me that if you put lime or quicklime under the gravel it helps elimanate the oder. What I am unclear on is where exactly the lime goes. For example is it... earth, lime, gravel, sand, pavers. Or does the lime go over the gravel? We live in a warm climate so frost is not an issue.

Answers:
earth , lime. gravel. and then those plastic rubber interlocking floor tiles for like shop enviroments. Those a easier on their paws and hose off easier. Then when you replace the lime, you just put it in the holes already in the tile. BE VERY CAREFULL WITH THE LIME, IT'S CORROSIVE. I really wouldn't use it. The smell shouldn't be very bad if the space is big enough for the number of dogs you have, and because the smell will wash away through the tiles when it rains or gets hosed off.
