Make money with a mobile lawn cutting service? i lost my job?

Question:hey i lost my job, now i need some money to feed my five kids and wife and my 2 dogs and cat! i was thinking of loading up the lawn mower and knocking door to door to see if anyone wants it cut. do it on the spot. i dont know nothing about gardening, so have to jus stick to lawns. i have a excellent flymo and it really quck, even on really long grass and collects grass well.

do u think this is poss? to make some much needed cash?

i saw them do it on the apprentice and it seemed good idea.

could it be a goer? any tips advice?

Answers:
Sounds like it should work to me. Target seniors, those with disablities and those who are too busy to cut their own lawns, like executives and families where both partners work long hours.

Go for it. If I were you I'd take cards with you and anyone who says no or explains it's just been cut, give them your card for next time and you might get a few bookings.
been there done that. work is work man good luck
Absolutely! You may check how much other cut and trim companies charge in your area - that way you can be competitive! See if you can give some of your business cards (that are really cheap to print on your own) to local garden centers. People are always looking for someone good to do their lawn. Best of luck to you!
Im sry you lost your job
Just make sure that you have Third Party Liability Insurance. Then when you throw up a stone or what ever other damage you may do you are covered. Replacement double glazed units and chipped BMW paint work will be expensive to repair. Also register as self employed and make sure that you pay all taxes etc due. If you do not follow this advice that nasty Mr Brown will eventually catch up with you and give you a VERY big bill.
7.50 for cutting grass and then charge them for a dumping fee of 4 quid and tell them you have to pay 160 quid for a dumping charge and if you do 5 gardens a day for a month you will pull in lots of cash
Dump the Flymo & buy a petrol mower.
great during the grass growing season, but what will you do in the winter. you would need a winter job and a summer job. a good lawn mower and strimmer is required.
