Where is the best place to plant a lilac? Full sun or partial shade. And why?

Question:

Answers:
I have had many lilac bushes in my life time and they have been in both situations full sun and shade. they both survived very will. currently in my yard I have many in the shade and some in full sun. I just dug up some starters from them last year and planted them in partcial sun and they are doing GREAT! so I am going to say that they will do good wherever you plant them. just make sure to give them lots of water after you plant them so they get there roots going!

Good Luck!

Full sun because they love it...Will grow anywhere though...Zero care..The ones on abandoned lots always look the best!
lilacs work best in full sun in good soil they do poor in clay soil. They will grow in partial shade and even in full shade but not as full mine are in several areas on my property.
Full sun. Because the plant will grow faster and stronger. I recently had to remove an apple tree to let more sun into my Primrose Lilacs.
