When u look at a football field on tv it seem as if there is a pattern to how it's being mowed how is it done?

Question:

Answers:
Yes, they change direction when mowing causing the blade of grass to bend .

What you are seeing is one side of the blades of grass. One side is typically shiny and smooth and the other side rough and fuzzy.

They also create this effect by using a roller going in opposite directions. the roller flattens the blades.

You mow stripes back and forth one way, then you turn 180degrees and mow stripes the other way. At an angle this will give a diamond checkerboard look, crosswise it will look like parquee flooring.
They mow the grass in opposite directions.
mow the yard from North to South when finished, turn around and mow it east to west, this creates a pattern. You can also mow at a criss cross angle and this looks really cool.
week one mow north to south-- week 2 go diaganol week 3 go east to west week 4 go diag the opposite off week 2
I do this when I mow because it looks so cool. I mow a stripe east, then turn north and walk 5 paces and then start my stripe west. I then turn south and do my next east stripe next to the one i just mowed. Keep repeating this pattern until you finish. I did this last year and now all my neighbors copy me.
most places just use a roller they dont even use a mower. but yeah the grass is just bending.
