How do you know how much landscape stone to use?

Question:I am trying to figure out how much rock to buy for my walkway.

Answers:
Get the area marked out if it isn't already. Then measure the area. Usually rock is layed in a 3"-4" layer. So take the length of the area by the width of the area times .44444 or .333333 depending on how thick you want the rock. To figure out how many yards you need divide the number you got by 27. 27 cubic ft in a cubic yard. If you don't feel confident doing this your self take your measurements to where you are buying the rock.

figure out how deep you might think you want in in inches, usually 2 to 3 and you can put landscape cloth underneath to prevent weeds from coming through, then figure out your surface area of total landscape stone. Draw a diagram and add up the sides in feet or inches and then , make sure to use the same increments, ie inches to inches and do a volume calculation, i cant remember the volume calculation for some reason though
measure where you want the stones & take the measurements to the store you are gonna purchase them from & have them figure it out
