How to kill unwanted bushes around fence?
Question:I would like to kill the wild blackberries and other bushes around my fence cause it takes over my lawn. Is there any other way than getting a landscaper to do the work and pay big money? I don't want those things to come back either.
Thanks

ortho brush-b-gone..
you'll have to kill all of them and be prepared to re-treat with the chemical. blackberries (besides being delicious) are tough.
Dig them up or use Roundup or both
Can't you just dig them out?
Roundup makes a stronger version of their grass killer made especially for plants with woody stems. Buy it and use it according to directions.
cut them down and use weed killer if they come back.. when you see the slightest sign of them returning spray the weed killer or keep it mowed
Go to Lowe's, Home Depo, hardware stores, etc. There is a liquid that you mix with water in a sprayer. It's called brush killer. It's like a weed killer but it's strong enough for the large things. There are many brands so just read on it and see which one meets your needs.
bonfire - don't forget to invite the neighbors and bring marshmallows!
I have wild strawberries growing everywhere. I have tried to weed them out myself, but there are just too many. I'd like to know the answer myself..hahahaa They are mixed in with flowers and groundcover, so using s chemical is out of the question.
