High winds have blown my year old trees in half is there anyway to save them?

Question:

Answers:
depending on the size of the caliper inch on the trunks you could place them back together such as a splice in grafting using a way to tie them back but if they have completely snapped off it is almost impossible to save them. if that is the case remove them and plant some new trees and be sure that you stake them properly and once the tree is in the ground for 6 or 7 months remove the stakes because sometimes the wires or ties used to stake them will cause an area that the tree could snap

we had that happen and what I did was cut the trees back to the broken part and cover any open wounds with paint so no bugs or disease would get at them and they are coming back nicely with new growth
