Can I make a tree stump decompose faster using manure?

Question:I have many (13) tree/bush stumps all over my yard- to hire some one to remove them is too costly. I wanted to know if there is anything I can do myself to help them decompopse faster. I have tried all kinds of store bought stuff, and digging them out, but it is almost impossible to get rid of them!

Answers:
Bore large holes in the stump
and put rock salt and water in
them three times a week.

Since the only real solution is to costly, I have seen people carving the stumps out and fill them with soil and then plant some beautiful flowers into them ,they really look nice and they are a natural planter . I hope that you like this idea!
No, manure is no faster than anything else and in fact is probably a lot slower. A product I have used is called Stump-O, it works but nothing works fast. Drill holes in the stump, the less wood and the more air movement thru it, the faster it will decay.
manure and water - you'll get lots of insects and different kinds of mushrooms and fungi which will assist in the decomposition. i had some lovely tree trunks and left it in my garden to encourage insects and found that when i added horse manure and water they rotted down much quicker, and have flowers growing out of them now

but i did chop into them so the holes are a great idea - once they get wet inside they rot down much faster

keep them as wet as possible
I dont know if thi s will help but my Dad uses Lime dust in his composting bin, he said it helps brek the stuff down.
if the tree stump is large in diameter, clear brush and leaf debris away surrounding stump, wide an area. place a lit briquets in center. coals will slowly burn through the stump to below ground. ensure no fire hazard exists...soak area surrounding stump with water.

if the stump is small in diameter, clear same wide area and
cover the stump with lit briquets. then soak area surrounding
stump with water.

larger stumps of mature trees 18" across at 6" above ground
took about a week.
i heard vinegar works
you can rent a stump grinder, and remove them yourself. Decomposing it would take several years.
