I would try Lowe's instead--better prices/selection than HD.

Call Home Depot plant department. Ask them what they are charging for sod. And then ask them for a price / sq. ft. on 2500 sq. ft. Then offer them ten or 5 cents / sq. ft. less.

If that doesn't work then call the next supplier of sod in your area and do the same thing. Then, if their price is higher than Home Depot tell them Home Depot's price and why should you buy it from (where you are) if HD is selling it for less?

Then you go back to HD and tell them you can get the sod from (where you were) for "x"/sq. ft. less than HD's price. CAn HD do better? That's how you find the good price.
