Do citrus trees require a cross pollinator to produce fruit.?

Question:Specifically interested in Naval Orange, lemons, limes, tangerines, tangelo, tangerine and mandarins

Answers:
In general, citrus flowers are perfect, having both sexes on the same blossom so that self-pollination takes place regardless of pollinators.

However, there are many new hybrids and cultivars, some of which are self-sterile and require pollination. Some of these (ie, some mandarins) require cross-pollination. It is sometimes observed that pollination or cross-pollination will increase fruit production, but not always. Many growers believe that cross-pollination often causes excessive seeds in the fruit.

There are so many cultivars of the citrus species you mention, each with its own characteristics and requirements, that a neat blanket answer can't be given. You may want to contact your supplier or local ag office for specific information.
