How much would a 12x12 concrete patio cost to create?

Question:how much would a long walkway with stairs for a slanted front yard cost?

Answers:
Depends where you are. Most municipalities require building permits - $50 to $100. The price of materials varies by location as well as methods needed to build a sturdy structure. Here in south Texas concrete can be had for about $65 a yard + a flat fee of $60 to $80. If the ground does not freeze hard in your area you will need to (1) remove the sod, plants, mulch or anything else in the area where you plan to build (2) grade the area around the patio so that the patio will be flat (a slope of ~0.25" per foot away from your home and towards the natural gradient of your yard will keep puddles from forming) (3) place ~4" of compactable base (4) tamp the base to remove all air (5) build a frame, lay reinforcing iron, pour the concrete. and the hardest part for a do it yourselfer -- surface the concrete so that it looks respectable. all said for 12x12 ~ $100 tool rental, ~$75 permit, ~ $250 concrete, ~$100 base, iron and scrap to build the frame. (you may consider trying to find somebody with experience to finish it -- this could cost anything from a case of beer on up) As for the walk way and such i do not know how long and how many steps you need but you could extrapolate from that given above.

Are you sure a 12x12 patio is big enough. Once you have a table and chairs you won't have much room for a grill or other things.
More than you can afford.
Ours was a little less the $500 a few years back. It was a mistake not to make it larger. We call it the slab instead of the patio.
