Startin Lawn Service?
Question:I am trying to start a lawn service business in the Houston area. How can I market my self in order to obtain business. My job recently cut hours and I need another form of income in order to provide for my family.

You can make up a little flyer and find a cheap photocopier. Include your name, phone number and something that will attract someones attention like "Never mow your lawn again!" Let me do it for you! Punch a hole, put a string or rubber band in it. Then get your kids together, if they are old enough and go door to door attaching it to doorknobs in the neighborhood. Then go to a parking lot with a LOT of cars and place your flyer on their windshield, taking care not to scratch the cars. Put your flyers up on the bulletin board of the supermarkets or laundromats. Stand outside the grocery store with your kids and hand a flyer to everyone that leaves. These are ways that won't cost too much money. Good luck!

1.make flyers or 4x6 cards with important information, then go to churches, at the end of every ceremony give these away and you'll get 6-10 calls the first day.
2. do the same thing on supermarkets.
3. once you reach certain amount of customers i'd suggest you to go for a web site name and add the web site address on your vehicle. Let your future customers what service you do, what areas you cover and the cost of service (if apply).
NOTE: internet access is getting more succesfull than advertising on yellow pages.
