Answers:
Sounds as though you have an over watering problem. Also. maybe powdery mildew is causing the white spots.
As for the bugs you can either hand pick them or try planting a companion plant marigolds can help with some insects. The snails can trapped with a dish of beer sunk into the ground so they can crawl in and drown.
The radishes and cucumbers should be planted in December or January since they produce better in the cooler seasons. The pumpkin and winter squashes around March.
depending on where you are in Florida.
While it is hard to know without seeing the plants I would try holding back on the water and doing deep infrequent soakings. The ground should not be soggy but moist or the plant drowns and the roots rot.
There are many little green catepillars and different forms of mildew so put a leaf and a caterpillar in a bag and visit your local nursery and ask for identifcation and advice..
Okay... be sure to water them every day. You may want to check the soil for things like grubs that eat the roots. Also try some sort of bug killing chemical. They also make stuff to kill those stupid grubs too. If none of that works, try going to a green house for advise. I think those things will workd though, I'm from Nebraska... no I don't have an acsent.
couple of organic things you could do to stop the rotting, and that is to boil some camomile tea, without sugar, and pour it (cold of course) around the roots of the plants.
The white spots are due to powery mildew, and what u can do is to spray "milk" on the leaves. this will kill the mildew.
For the insects, you can plant garlic (broken into cloves and then planted) or u can spray pepper (diluted with water ) -instant remedy - on to the leaves. this is cause the critters to run for the hills..and best of all your plants will recover with no adverse side effects.
Happy Gardening..
you need to get a book called:
"Rodales all-new Encyclopedia of organic gardening" and read up on each of your vegies and conditions. It will tell you how to grow each one, and what their main pests and diseases are and how to cure.
White spots on the leaves sounds like powdery mildew.a solution of chamamile tea sprayed on every few days will fix that..Get the book, read it over the winter, and best of luck next summer!
