What type of branches are suceptable to falling on houses?

Question:My husband just had part of a live tree cut down because he thought it would fall on our house. I think it looks ugly, and there is still part of the tree that looks to me like it could fall on our house. I think it was a waste of money and a good tree.

Answers:
The type of trees that are more suseptible to limb breakage are trees that have soft wood like willows and poplars, or any tree that has been damaged by pests or diseases.

In reality any tree has the potential for limb breakage, and it may be better to be safe than sorry, especially if the tree is too close to the house and you live in a place that has heavy winds or ice.

Kind of a wierd question, but the answer is "tree" branches (sorry, I couldn't resist). All trees are capable of loosing limbs on any given day. Could fall due to disease, bug damage, or storm/ wind damage. A lightning strike can drop the biggest tree in my yard if the circumstances are just right.

As long as there is a tree above your roof, there is a good chance that someday a branch will fall from it. The reality is the hardwoods drop larger branches easier becase they are more proned to snapping. Softer woods will flex and be left standing.
sometimes to much dry weather will cause trees to become very brittle so water them if that is the case also trim so the tre can breathe yes breathe thin them out so they willstay healthy with you
